The AESJ contributes to the development of agriculture and rural society through the application of social science, addressing economic, social and environmental issues related to rural world.
The AESJ was established in 1924. The AESJ has one of the longest histories of the many social science-related organizations that exist in Japan today. The total membership of the AESJ is now about 1,600. The range of our activities spreads out abroad as well as Japan.
